We’re all counting down the days to the Dead’s three day run at Chicago’s Soldier Field with special guests Trey Anastasio, Jeff Chimenti, and Bruce Hornsby over Fourth of July weekend. Those shows are going to be legendary and I can’t wait for them. But if you can’t make them, you might want to think about this one instead.
On May 14th, the four remaining members of the Dead will be hosting a concert at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. Titled Dear Jerry: Celebrating the Music of Jerry Garcia, this monumental concert features a laundry list of extremely talented musicians who will be playing Garcia’s music and remembering his legacy. Some special guests will be Widespread Panic, Los Lobos, O.A.R., Trampled by Turtles, and many more. Even better, I’d be willing to bet anything that the three guests for the Chicago performances show up and jam as well.
Tickets go on sale Friday, March 13th (tomorrow!) and I’m sure they’re going to sell out fast. The cheapest option is $70 for a ticket; a small price to pay for such a huge lineup. Check out the website here!
